Terms of Use and Privacy

In plain language: what you can expect from DataCifra and how data is handled.

Effective August 3, 2026

1. Terms of Use

By using the DataCifra app, website, or services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be legally able to accept these terms or use DataCifra under a guardian's supervision.

DataCifra helps musicians create, organize, view, import, export, and share chord sheets, setlists, and audio. Features, formats, and integrations may evolve to maintain security, compatibility, and quality.

2. Your content and copyright

You retain the rights you hold in content you create or import and give DataCifra only the technical permission needed to perform a requested function, such as processing an import, generating a file, delivering a notification, or maintaining an optional backup.

You are responsible for having permission to use, copy, adapt, record, import, export, or share lyrics, chords, songs, audio, videos, setlists, and links. Personal, educational, religious, or non-commercial use does not automatically remove third-party copyright.

Do not publish or share illegal, abusive, fraudulent, rights-infringing, or malicious content, or expose personal data without a lawful basis. Substantiated copyright requests may be sent to the contact below with the work, URL or item, and sufficient supporting information.

3. Imports, YouTube, and third-party services

When you import a URL, you ask DataCifra to access and convert a compatible page. Content, availability, and terms of DataCifra.com, Cifra Club, Cifras.com.br, and other sites belong to their respective operators. A successful import does not transfer rights in a work or guarantee accuracy.

Videos use the official YouTube player. When you use it, the YouTube Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy also apply. Video may be unavailable because of network, region, removal, age restriction, Screen Time, or content filtering.

You may not interfere with the service, bypass limits or controls, exploit vulnerabilities, transmit malicious code, or use automation, scraping, or abusive volume outside the provided features.

4. Storage, backup, and availability

Your main library stays on the device. Exports and complete backups are under your control; online backup, when enabled, is a separate optional feature. Keep at least one recoverable copy before erasing, replacing, or restoring a device.

We use reasonable measures to operate the service, but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, permanent third-party compatibility, recovery of every file, or complete absence of errors. To the extent permitted by law, DataCifra is not liable for indirect loss arising from content, credentials, a device, connectivity, a third-party service, or a backup the user failed to maintain.

We may restrict abusive, unsafe, or illegal access and update these terms. Material changes will be published here with a new date. Brazilian law governs these terms without limiting mandatory consumer or data-protection rights.

5. Privacy Policy

Data kept on your device

Songs, chord sheets, setlists, themes, settings, and recordings are stored primarily on your device. They leave it only when you use a network or sharing feature such as online backup, URL import, YouTube, export, support, or notification-driven import.

Exported files and offline backups remain under your control and the rules of the destination selected through the operating system. Microphone access is requested only to create a new recording; playing, importing, sharing, or deleting existing audio does not require that permission.

Technical data and data you provide

  • a pseudonymous installation identifier, notification token, app version, device model, system version, language/country, basic usage events, and crash diagnostics;
  • email provided for online backup, support, or a specific communication you consent to, such as Android availability;
  • a URL you deliberately submit for import and the page required to process it, together with a non-secret diagnostic ID, source, result, duration, and reduced rate-limit data;
  • normal server data such as IP address, browser user agent, timestamp, and requested route;
  • payload and history required to deliver and display notifications. The in-app notification-center history is retained locally for 30 days.

Import logs should not retain complete lyrics, credentials, cookies, internal secrets, raw pages, or a full URL when a reduced source identifier is sufficient.

How we use data

We use data to provide requested features, deliver notifications, secure and rate-limit the service, diagnose failures, improve reliability, answer support, maintain optional backup, and send only communications you requested. We do not sell personal data, and the app does not use third-party advertising networks.

Service providers

Depending on the feature, processing may involve Apple and the App Store, Firebase/Google, Parse-compatible backend hosting, website hosting, email delivery, and YouTube. Those providers process data under their own agreements and policies. App Store payments are processed by Apple; DataCifra does not receive full payment-card details.

Data may be processed outside Brazil under contractual and technical safeguards appropriate to applicable law. We may also preserve or disclose information when needed to comply with law or a valid order, protect rights, or investigate abuse.

Retention and security

We retain data for the time needed for the stated purpose, operations, security, and legal obligations. Local content remains until you delete, replace, restore, or remove the app. Consent and request records may be kept to demonstrate legal compliance. No system is immune from failure; protect your device and keep backups under your control.

6. Your rights

Under the LGPD and other applicable laws, you may request confirmation and access, correction, information about sharing, portability where applicable, objection, anonymization or deletion of unnecessary data, and withdrawal of consent. Deletion may be limited by law, security, or the need to defend legal rights.

DataCifra is not specifically directed to children. Guardians should supervise minors and avoid submitting unnecessary personal data.
